📍 Rex Lookout⁣ | Cairns, Australia |⁣ ⁣ A 📍 Rex Lookout⁣ | Cairns, Australia |⁣ ⁣ After taking a break from social media to live more in the moment, and a long 10 hour flight later, I am back with a new blog post - Guide to Tropical North Queensland 🤗. Link in Bio.⁣ ⁣ This picture was taken at Rex Lookout which is along the Great Barrier Reef drive from Cairns to Port Douglas. Hands down one of the most beautiful drives that I have ever done! ⁣ ⁣ We chose to stay in Port Douglas over Cairns and it couldn’t have been better. 📍Port Douglas⁣ | Queensland, Australia |⁣ ⁣ Nothing says ‘Welcome to Australia 🇦🇺’ quite like feeding a kangaroo for the first time 😍. ⁣ ⁣ Finally touched down in Cairns from Singapore (the worst turbulent 6 hours of my life!) and I am so excited to be here! 📍Mossman Gorge⁣ | Queensland, Australia |⁣ 📍Mossman Gorge⁣ | Queensland, Australia |⁣ ⁣ I was pretty impressed with mum this day (once we had eventually got through the complaining!). I know that she doesn’t particularly like walking, let alone walking in 35 degree heat and in crazy humidity. ⁣ ⁣ But she did it! The rainforest circuit track at the gorge isn’t that long (2.4km) but it took us about an hour. They advise against swimming at the gorge in the Mossman River (although many people still do). 📍 Raffles Hotel⁣ | Singapore |⁣ ⁣ Just a 📍 Raffles Hotel⁣ | Singapore |⁣ ⁣ Just a shameless selfie with my VERY expensive Singapore Sling ($35 SGD/ £20). After making mum walk for a whopping 15 minutes, it was best to have a rest in none other than the beautiful setting of Raffles Hotel! Not going to lie though, the humidity in Singapore is on another level 😓⁣ ⁣ The Singapore Sling (which is regarded as the national drink) is a fruity gin based cocktail (right up my street - the fruitiness that is, not the gin 🤢) . It was invented in 1915 at Raffles purely for women, to disguise the fact that they were drinking; something which was frowned upon in public. ⁣ ⁣ It was tasty, was it worth the money? 📍Victoria, BC | Canada | Breakfast of dreams! 📍Victoria, BC | Canada | Breakfast of dreams! 🥞 Starting the day right 😝. I still reminisce over this meal but unfortunately I haven’t found anywhere in London which does these! (Caramelised apple and cinnamon waffles) This was one of the best days of my life and definitely a highlight of our Canada trip.
